Hola Hello and thank you for checking out my post on my Art Events in Brighton & Hove. Yes, I am now also doing Arts Events. Why? BECAUSE THEY ARE SO MUCH FUN!
I teamed up with fellow illustrator, Rhian Jenkins as well as Romy of The Black Market Burlesque events, to plan and run some unique art events in the Brighton & Hove area.
Drink & Draw Challenges
2 December 2022
This was Rhian and I's first event together and it couldn't of gone better! We had 3 sections for the three challenges and every 20 mins or so we got everyone to move to the next section and at the end, amongst all the wine drinking, everyone displayed their artwork on a wall as a final pop-up exhibition.
The challenges were:
Still Life
To draw a selection of items set out on a table.
Portrait
To draw the people on your table or around you.
Squiggle to sketch. To do a 3 second squiggle on some paper without looking then turn the squiggle into a piece of art (patterns, portrait, etc) There was paints, pens, inks ,paper and more to use to create the pieces of art and everyone had a great time.

Black Market Peaky Blinders inspired Burlesque Life Drawing and Drag

This was Romy and I's first event together and it was SO MUCH FUN!! ...and got a little steamy at one point! OOOFF!!!
I contacted Romy with the idea of trying to recreate the fun and banter of the Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art Skool Burlesque life drawing but without it actually being Dr Sketchy's. Romy had already established her Burlesque shows with her Black Market brand which has a 1930s theme already and so we decided to create a Peaky Blindered inspired Burlesque, Drag Life Drawing event.
It was hosted by the very entertaining and funny Lydia L'Scabies, with a solo performance by Romy and later Romy and her partner and with art assistance by me during the drawing sessions. I hope to collaborate with Romy on more Burlesque events in the future so if you're interested in more Burlesque Life Drawing - stay tuned!
Mothers Day Coffee, Cake & Caricature

Rhian and I decided to do a last minute event for Mother's Day and managed to get some bookings to help people treat their Mum is a unique Mother's Day treat - Coffee, Cake & Caricature. It went well and we would like to do more themed Art and Food and Drink events but currently have no plans yet for more. If you would like us to arrange something for a Birthday or Anniversary or event a Christmas event then please do get in touch.
